GNReSound
GNReSound was first founded in Denmark in 1943 by Gerd Rosenstand. They are one of the world’s largest providers of hearing instruments and have a long history of developing new ground breaking digital hearing aid technologies, such as WDRC (Wide Dynamic Range Compression).
They continue to be the industry leaders recently introducing the world’s first ‘Made for iPhone’ hearing aid called ‘LiNX’. This was possible by incorporating 2.4 GHz wireless technology (an industry first) enabling their hearing aids to connect to wireless accessories (which now include the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch) without the need of any intermediary devices. They have also developed the industry’s leading feedback cancellation technology called DFS Ultra II.

Widex
Widex was founded in Denmark in 1956 by the Tøpholm and Westermann families whom still own the company today. They are one of the world’s leading manufacturers of hearing aids and they estimate that one in 10 hearing aids sold internationally is
made by them. Widex are renowned for inventing and manufacturing the world’s first fully digital in-the-ear hearing aid.
In more recent years, Widex have been responsible for developing NanoCare protection, a wax guard system based on nanotechnology to help enchance the reliability, performance and lifecycle of hearing aids.

Phonak
Phonak, a Swiss-based company, was originally founded in 1947. They are now part of Sonova Holding AG alongside other manufacturers of hearing instruments and diagnostic audiological equipment such as Unitron and Advanced Bionics. They have significant experience of helping paediatric clients and aunched the ‘Claro’ in 1999 which was one of the world’s first fully digital hearing aid with an integrated FM receiver.
They are renowned for their cutting edge FM technology and continue to innovate with the first wireless CROS/BiCROS system, designed to help people suffering from single-sided deafness.

Starkey
Starkey are an American-based company that was founded in 1971 by Bill Austin after the purchase of Starkey Laboratories from Harold Starkey. In two years Starkey became the world’s leading manufacturer of custom hearing instruments.
Starkey launched the world’s first hearing aid to fit entirely in the ear canal and was the world’s smallest hearing aid.
